Netherlands face Italy at the De Grolsch Veste in Enschede in a match for the UEFA Nations League third place. Now let’s see what we can tell you about it in our football predictions for tomorrow.

Netherlands were hosts of the Final Four of the Nations League and they hoped to reach the final. Well, it didn’t happen. Oranje played extra-time against Croatia in Rotterdam, but suffered a heartbreaking 2-4 defeat. They even opened the score thanks to Donyell Malen, but at the end Croatia played better during the extra-time.

It remains to be seen if Netherlands’ head coach Ronald Koeman will do any changes to his line-up for the next game. He has some interesting options at the bench such as Gini Wijnaldum, Steven Bergwijn and Marten de Roon. Still, we expect to see a similar starting eleven to the one against Croatia.

Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo remains Netherlands’ most dangerous weapon at the moment. Gakpo didn’t score against Croatia and he was replaced during the extra-time, but now he can prove how good he is.

Italy also missed their chance to reach the Nations League final. The Azzurri faced Spain in the other 1/2-final, but suffered a 1-2 defeat against La Roja. Ciro Immobile scored Italy’s only goal in the game from a penalty kick, but in the dying minutes Joselu became the hero for Spain with a late goal.

Roberto Mancini could make some changes in the line-up for the next match. Federico Dimarco can replace Spinazzola at the left flank while Federico Chiesa and Marco Verratti could return in the starting eleven as well. Meawnhile Roma’s captain Lorenzo Pellegrini remains a solid option for the manager, too.

That’s the football predictions for tomorrow for the Nations League third place match between Netherlands and Italy. We wish you good luck with this one!
